The recycling space of waste polyester packaging products and waste polyester textiles is still huge. With the gradual establishment of the domestic recycling system, the enterprise development is gradually standardized, and combined with the way of going global, the recycled polyester industry will gradually upgrade and integrate in the medium and long term, and achieve healthy development. In the short term, there are moderate anti substitution of new materials for recycled materials, but the number is limited, which is not enough to have a significant impact on the original polyester.

What are the main aspects of the substitution of new materials for returned materials?

Unlike other products produced by mixing recycled plastics with new materials, recycled PET is degraded to produce recycled chemical fibers. That is to say, recycled PET has little substitution for the application field of polyester bottle sheet plastics. In the field of chemical fiber, the new material of recycled PET bottle flakes is polyester chips. Although their viscosity and melting point are obviously different, they are both used to produce polyester fibers. Some recycled chemical fiber enterprises can buy a moderate amount of polyester chips for mixed use or separate production. In addition, as the substitute of raw polyester fiber, the terminal demand of recycled polyester fiber and recycled polyester fiber has some overlap, mainly in the low-end market.

Regenerated chemical fibers are still the main demand of recycled PET, among which cotton textiles account for a large proportion of zui, as long as they are used for spinning. Regenerated ordinary fiber and original polyester staple fiber have a substitution relationship. At present, a few rebiochemical fiber yarn manufacturers have switched to polyester staple fiber production. With the rise of the price of recycled products, the counter substitution of polyester staple fiber for the maximization is expanding.

The filling field is mainly hollow products, and the output of recycled hollow products accounts for more than 80%. Because recycled PET bottle tablets have a certain IPA content and relatively high viscosity, the products made have good stiffness, which has a good occupancy for filling in some fields, such as mattresses, plush toys and other industries, and the original products are not suitable for use. Therefore, as the leading product in the filling field, the market of regenerated hollow is relatively independent, and the space for its replacement by original hollow is relatively limited.

In terms of non-woven fabric industry, the downstream is mainly used in geotextile, linoleum base cloth and other fields, but these fields are not very strict with product requirements. In recent years, renewable products have dominated, and the share of original products is small. As long as the price of renewable products is lower than that of original products, the purchasing tendency of downstream products will basically remain unchanged.

Regenerated filament is a small category of regenerated chemical fibers, which can produce cashmere fabrics with low quality requirements, or make base silk in the field of circular machines. Production of elastic belts, curtains, sand release, blankets, carpets and other products. Since 2014, renewable filament enterprises have been withdrawing and their production capacity has been shrinking. At present, the output of regenerated filament is less than one twentieth of that of polyester filament, and some manufacturers produce and use them themselves, so the original products have little significance to replace the regenerated filament.

There are moderate reverse substitution of new materials for recycled materials, but the quantity is limited, which is not enough to have a greater impact on the original polyester.

Zhuochuang research shows that at present, recycled chemical fiber manufacturers absorb polyester chips at a low price and appropriately for emergency needs, but recycled common fiber manufacturers, which account for a large proportion of Zui, prefer low price foam products and are weak in purchasing new materials. In the future, as the shortage of recycled PET supply continues, new polyester chips will form a certain reverse substitution for recycled bottle chips, and polyester staple fibers will also squeeze the application of recycled ordinary fibers in the cotton spinning field, but the number is relatively limited. Regenerated polyester manufacturers are bound to focus on the improvement of domestic recovery rate, industrial chain development, and going global.

The domestic recycled amount of recycled PET in China cannot meet the demand of recycled chemical fiber enterprises. With the vigorous promotion of waste prohibition and environmental protection, the supply of recycled PET in China is tight, and the price is soaring. With the further promotion, the price of recycled chemical fiber is also rising.
